Mental & Counseling (MHC)

Mental Health & Counseling (MHC) at Yale Health provides free, confidential mental health treatment to members of the Yale student community. They offer a wide range of services including individual therapy, group therapy, and medication consultations and management. Appointments for an initial consultation in Mental Health & Counseling can be made by phone. In urgent situations, any student can ask to speak to the on-call clinician, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year by calling (203) 432-0290. MHC operates three offices in convenient locations throughout campus. They are located on the 3rd floor of 55 Lock Street, 205 Whitney Avenue, and 60 Temple Street. All of their locations are open Monday-Friday, 8:30AM-5:00PM.

The Good Life Center

The Good Life Center serves as Yale’s student wellness hub on campus. They offer a variety of evidenced based well-being workshops and programming ranging from sleep science, mindfulness, stress management, time management, trauma-informed yoga and much more! Come stop by their spaces and take a break in their nap room and technology-free rooms. Learn more about the main Good Life Center spaces on the 2nd floor Annex of the Yale Schwarzman Center at 168 Grove Street. Visit the satellite spaces located on the 4th floor of Byers Hall at 505 College Street and at the Divinity school.

The SHARE Center 

SHARE provides crisis support, advocacy, and referral to on-going care for all members of the Yale community who are navigating an experience related to sexual misconduct. For students (undergraduate, graduate, and professional), they also offer on-going emotional support, including individual therapy focused on processing issues related to sexual misconduct, survivor support group, and a Trauma-Informed Yoga for Survivors program. SHARE also has a Conduct Awareness Training Program for individuals who have concerns about their own behavior. The University Chaplain’s Office 

The Chaplain’s office promotes interfaith, respect, and understanding while facilitating access to religious resources and groups on campus. The chaplains offer spiritual, moral, and confidential emotional support to students. The office also hosts events such as religious celebrations, study breaks, and more. The office is located in the basement of Bingham D on Old Campus. Stop by to talk to a chaplain or enjoy some ice cream!

The Office of LGBTQ Resources

The Office of LGBTQ Resources supports and empowers students, faculty, staff, and alumni of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions (SOGIE) to strengthen and unite our Yale University community. The office is a cultural hub that provides resources and support in the areas of community, education, and advocacy for the LGBTQ Community, with drop-in hours from 3-10pm, Sunday through Friday. They coordinate with student, faculty, and staff LGBTQ groups to hold a variety of programs and events including movie screenings, speakers, activities, meals, and discussions.

Yale Health

Access to Student Health is available to all Yale graduate and professional students who are all automatically eligible for care. Upon your enrollment at Yale University, you automatically have access to Student Health services in addition to other departments such as OB/GYN, Mental Health & Counseling, and Acute Care. Located at 55 Lock Street.

The Poorvu Center

Student Accessibility Services

Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS)

OISS coordinates services and support for Yale’s nearly 6,000 international students, faculty, staff, and their dependents. OISS assists with issues related to employment, immigration, and personal and cultural adjustment, as well as general information about living at Yale and in New Haven. OISS programs provide an opportunity to meet members of Yale’s international community and become acquainted with a variety of resources. OISS also serves as the International Center for Yale Students and Scholars, which provides a welcoming venue for students and scholars who want to check their email, grab a cup of coffee, and meet up with a friend or colleague.

The Asian American Cultural (AACC)

The Asian American Cultural Center (AACC) plays a key role in ensuring the development and enhancement of Yale University’s commitment to the Asian and Asian American community. La Casa Cultural de Julia de Burgos

La Casa Cultural de Julia de Burgos, affectionately known as La Casa, is Yale’s Latine cultural center at Yale University. La Casa offers advising as well as a variety of programs and opportunities for undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. Housed in a beautiful three-story building on Crown Street, La Casa is where our students often gather for various events, to study, cook, or for their own relaxation needs. The Afro-American Cultural Center

The Afro-American Cultural Center, affectionately known as The House, is a vibrant community of Black scholar-leaders dedicated to preserving and promoting the historical, cultural, intellectual, and social movement traditions of the African Diaspora. Since 1969, The House has nurtured and encouraged generations of Black Yalies to become some of the world’s leading scholars, activists, and professionals. The House has a rich history of serving as Yale’s home away from home for its Black student body, and all campus and local community members who wish to learn about and celebrate the cultures and traditions of the African Diaspora.
